Tutorial - References.length

Jump to Topic:
Length fields compute the length of preceding, succeeding or an enclosing field and then encode them appropriately. MuSL supports both ascii and binary lengths.
  • You can change the encoding base of ascii fields as well as provide deltas that offset the computed length
  • Binary lengths can be encoded in different bit widths and little endian encoding is supported as well
Length fields are critical to preserve the integrity of message, especially during fuzz testing or when the messages are parametrized.
